The Defense Department has identified $12.8 billion in possible funding that it could use to fulfill President Trump's call for a border wall.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., released the 20-page spreadsheet on Twitter Monday night.

Trump last month declared a national emergency at the border, and said he wants to use $3.6 billion for border wall projects. The Pentagon's list said it has found possible funding sources that are "in excess of the amount needed."

Ik lees een heel ander verhaal.

Heeft een lijst vrijgegeven . Hierop staan de militaire projecten die stopgezet kunnen worden om geld vrij te maken voor Trump's muur. Met deze lijst wil hij de Senatoren duidelijk maken , dat om de muur te bouwen er belangrijke militaire projecten in de thuis staten van de senatoren niet door gaan. Dit betekent gebrek aan werkgelegenheid in hun staat, en een ernstige verzwakking van het leger en dus de Nationale Veiligheid. De muur van ijdelheid van Trump, die geen enkele veiligheid oplevert, heeft een hoge prijs.

Volgende week is er stemming om het veto van Trump ongeldig te verklaren. Jack Reed roept de senatoren op de verzwakking van het leger , bij deze stemming in overweging te nemen.

" We know President Trump wants to make money from our National Security Accounts to pay for his wall, and now we have a list of some of the projects and needed base repairs that could be put on the chopping block as a result. "

" What President Trump is doing is a slap in the face to our military that makes our border and the country less secure. He is planning to take funds from real, effective operational priorities and needed projects and divert them to his vanity wall. That may help shore up his political base , but it could come at the expense of our military bases and the men and women of our Armed Forces who rely on them. "

" A bipartisan majority of Congress went on record in voting to rebuke this ill-convinced idea. Now that members of Congress can see the potential impact this proposal could have in their home states. I hope they will take that into consideration before the vote to override the President's veto"

Boeing will stop charging safety feature after deadly crashes.

Dus Boeing heeft een vliegtuig verkocht met mankementen. Geeft een service pakket voor up-dates om veiligheid te verbeteren. Maar daar moet voor worden betaald.

Ethiopian Airlines en Lion Air hadden/konden niet betalen voor deze "upgrades" betreffend "communications" , :navigation" en " safety features".

Verkopen ze zo tegenwoordig een vliegtuig. Men zorgt er zo voor dat het onderhoud gegarandeerd door Boeing verricht moet worden. Een goedkoop vliegtuig, maar zo lang het vliegt verplicht betalen voor onderhoud en aanpassende software als je daar een abonnement op neemt. En dat abonnement kunnen ze net zo duur maken als ze zelf willen.

The commandant of the Marines has warned the Pentagon that deployments to the southwest border and funding transfers under the president's emergency declaration, among other unexpected demands, have posed “unacceptable risk to Marine Corps combat readiness and solvency.”

In two internal memos, Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller said the “unplanned/unbudgeted” deployment along the border that President Trump ordered last fall, and shifts of other funds to support border security, had forced him to cancel or reduce planned military training in at least five countries, and delay urgent repairs at bases.

The border deployment and funding transfers, as well as recovery costs from hurricanes Florence and Michael, new housing allowances and civilian pay raises, are taking a toll on combat readiness, Neller wrote to Navy Secretary Richard Spencer and Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan.

The American public's approval of Congress reached a two-year high, according to the results of a new Gallup poll.

The poll released Tuesday found that 26 percent of respondents approve of Congress's job performance, the highest mark since February 2017, when 28 percent said they approved.

Approval ratings have historically been low for Congress. According to Gallup, the average approval rating for Congress has been 30 percent since 1974.

Since President Trump took office, the approval rating for Congress has ranged from a low of 13 percent to a high of 28 percent.

Tuesday's poll found that Democrats are more likely than Republicans to approve of Congress, with 30 percent of Democratic respondents and 18 percent of Republican respondents approving. Twenty-seven percent of independents polled said they approve of Congress, according to Gallup.

Gallup noted that Democratic approval has surged since Democrats regained control of the House following last year's midterm elections.

Trump's Administratie wil versoepeling van regels op stralingsgebied.

Baseert zich op wetenschappers die beweren dat enige lichte vorm van straling zelfs goed is voor de mens.

Huidig standpunt: blootstelling aan lichtste vorm van straling levert gevaar op verhoogd risico op kanker.

Nu zegt men : zero-tolerance van straling is te duur en onnodig.Bovendien lichte straling heeft positieve invloed op de mens.
Versoepeling is kosten besparend voor de bedrijven en de EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) , doordat bij EPA er dan minder controleurs nodig zijn.

Versoepeling heeft invloed op mensen , die 1) werken bij nucleaire installatie,2) werken bij olie en gas winning,3)medisch personeel dat x-ray's en CT scans uitvoert.

Eerder al had Trump's Administration regels versoepeld op giftige stoffen. vervuilende stoffen, inclusief kolen uitstoot en automobiel uitstoot.

"Cindy" Yang bemiddelde ook om toegang voor Chinezen te krijgen in de politieke wereld van Trump.
Zij regelde dat Chinezen op fundraisers konden komen en opfoto's samen met Trump (waarbij een flink bedrag werd gevraagd($50.000) voor bijdrage aan het Trump's herverkiezingsfonds) konden poseren.

Hierbij zijn regels overtreden van de FEC(Federal Election Committee). Bovendien is het de vraag of deze personen voldoende gescreend zijn om zo dicht bij de President te komen.

Devin Nunes heeft rechtszaak ingediend tegen twitter en een paar twitteraars. Claimt $ 250 million schade vergoeding.

Twitter heeft onvoldoende maatregelen getroffen om accounts te schrappen , waarin Nunes in naam en faam wordt aangetast. Ook sommige account houders zijn gedaagd.

In een interview in 2010 zegt Nunes, met betrekking tot protesten waarbij het N-woord werd gebruikt.

Trump en de muur.

Herhaaldelijk komt Trump met situaties waarbij vrouwen gesmokkeld worden met blue tape over their face en vastgebonden. Om dit te voorkomen is de muur nodig.

In deze reportage blijkt duidelijk dat Trump slachtoffers van mensensmokkel steeds minder bescherming biedt.

Het was een bi partisan project om slachtoffers van mensensmokkel een bescherming te geven wanneer de organisatie wordt opgerold. Zij krijgen een T-Visum, zodat zij in de US kunnen blijven en meewerken aan de rechtszaak tegen de smokkelaars. Bovendien hun een veilige haven te bieden om hun plaats in de samenleving te vinden.

Trump heeft met zijn immigratie beleid steeds minder slachtoffers deze bescherming geboden, blijkt duidelijk uit deze video van Ari Melber van MSNBC.

De muur propageren om slachtoffers van mensensmokkel te beschermen en te helpen. Anderzijds de hulp aan deze slachtoffers te minimaliseren zodat zij in hulpeloze , uitzichtloze situaties terechtkomen.

De muur is symbool politiek.

maar dat gaat niet gebeuren want deze fijne schoonzoon hoort tenslotte tot

Export US Whiskey en Bourbon daalt aanzienlijk in verband met tarieven oorlog.

In antwoord op de US importheffing op staal en aluminium, hebben andere landen import heffingen ingevoerd op andere producten.

Canada, China, Mexico en European Union hebben import tarieven ingevoerd op whiskey en bourbon variërend van 10 tot 25%.
1ste halfjaar 2018 liet nog wel een US export stijging zien. Dit was extra verkoop in anticipatie op de invoering van importheffingen in september.
Overall export whiskey&bourbon liet in 2018 nog wel een stijging zien van 5 %, dankzij de boost in 1ste halfjaar. Echter deze stijging was al veel minder dan de stijging van 17% in 2017. Na september dus een ernstige daling van de export.

Europa dat een 25% heffing invoerde was goed voor 60% van de vroegere export.
