"Unfortunately, we do not currently believe it will be safe at that time to hold a meeting with nearly 40,000 attendees as we last did in 2019," says the House of Buffett (BRK.A, BRK.B), announcing its annual shareholders meeting on May 1 will be held virtually.
"We look forward to 2022, when we expect to again host shareholders in Omaha at our usual large gala."
Buffett has been uncharacteristically quiet since the pandemic hit, emerging last May to say a few (very cautious) words about the outlook. As for the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio, things have been modestly active, including the unloading of a lot of bank exposure (though adding to BofA stake), and some Apple holdings. Buys include big pharma, hot tech name Snowflake, a gold miner, Dominion Energy's gas transmission and storage segment assets, and a decent size slug of Berkshire stock.
