Sergey Karaganov : "We are at war with the West. The European security order is illegitimate"

Sergey Karaganov has served as a presidential advisor in the Kremlin both under Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin. He is still considered close to Russia’s president and foreign minister Sergey Lavrov.

His recent proposals on Russian-speaking minorities in the “near abroad” are known as “Putin doctrine” and Professor Karaganov, who is honorary chair of the Moscow think tank the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, was first to come out publicly about an all-out invasion of Ukraine in 2019.

President Putin has mentioned on Feb. 24 that Ukraine’s accession to NATO warrants Russia’s military intervention to prevent it. However, Ukraine didn’t even have a Membership Action Plan for NATO and Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz clearly stated accession was many, many years off.

Russia is sending an 8-mi long convoy of 100s of vehicles, including armored vehicles and artillery southbound through the Ukrainian town of Velykyi Burluk.

The convoy is moving about 60 miles ( 90 km ) east of Ukraine’s 2nd-largest city of Kharkiv, as Russia focuses on Donbas.

War crimes were part of Russia's master plan, US national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, says

"The larger issue of broad-scale war crimes and atrocities in Ukraine lies at the feet of the Kremlin," Jake Sullivan said.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday that the war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine were part of President Vladimir Putin’s master plan for the invasion.

“We, in fact, before the war began declassified intelligence and presented it,” Sullivan said on ABC’s “This Week,” “indicating that there was a plan from the highest levels of the Russian government to target civilians who oppose the invasion, to cause violence against them, to organize efforts to brutalize them in order to try to terrorize the population and subjugate it. So this is something that was planned.”

Russia’s recent retreat from areas near Kyiv left behind massive evidence of atrocities, particularly in Bucha, where civilians who had been executed, many with their hands tied behind their backs, were found through the area.

On top of that, Russia has targeted civilian sites throughout the war, with airstrikes on hospitals and places where refugees have congregated.

“The images that we’ve seen out of Bucha and other cities have been tragic, they’ve been horrifying,” Sullivan told host Jonathan Karl. “They’ve been downright shocking, but they have not been surprising.”

Sullivan did say that it was possible that some acts of brutality were spontaneous, suggesting that Russian soldiers who were frustrated by how poorly the invasion was going turned on Ukraine’s civilians.

“They had been told they were going to have a glorious victory,” Sullivan said of the Russian troops, “and just ride into Kyiv without any opposition with Ukrainians welcoming them and when that didn’t happen, I do think some of these units engaged in these acts of brutality, these atrocities, these war crimes even without direction from above.”

“But make no mistake, the larger issue of broad-scale war crimes and atrocities in Ukraine lies at the feet of the Kremlin and lies at the feet of the Russian president,” he added.

Vandaag was het de zgn. palmzondag, waarbij het verhaal verteld wordt van Jezus' intocht in Jeruzalem . Hij wordt daarbij door het volk toegejuicht en en binnengehaald als een koning. Zo niet door de geestelijkheid, zij hadden andere plannen met Jezus.

Vandaag dacht ik: wat zouden de twee aartsleugenaars ( Poetin en Kirill) deze week doen: leven ze toe naar Pasen en herdenken ze dan de Gekruisigde of zijn ze van plan Hem de komende dagen voor de zoveelste maal zélf te kruisigen? Nog meer onschuldig bloed? Nog meer leed? En hoeveel ándere mensen zullen zij nog offeren voordat zij zichzelf als een offer geven (voor deze wereld)?

Ongelooflijk dat zij zich uitgeven als Christenen. Een eerlijk en oprecht mens zou zich nooit meer in een kerk durven vertonen.

Deze twee lieden zijn al jaren de schaamte voorbij. En in een normale kerk zullen ze zich waarschijnlijk nooit meer vertonen. Ze hebben hun eigen kerkje . Hun satanskerkje.

De klokkentoren van de kerk is 75 meter hoog en symboliseert de 75e verjaardag van het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. De diameter van de koepel is 19,45 meter, wat het jaar van de overwinning markeert: 1945. Een kleinere koepel is 14,18 meter, wat staat voor de 1418 dagen dat de oorlog duurde. De vloer bestaat uit gesmolten door Russische troepen buitgemaakte wapens.

Ze houden wel van symboliek, dat moet gezegd.

Ik heb ook een hoopvol getalletje: in het boek "Hitler, een tiran in beeld" wordt er melding van gemaakt dat Hitler pas goed in beeld kwam in het jaar 1923. En zijn einde was in 1945. Dus totaal 22 jaar. En kijk aan: ook Poetin kwam pas goed in beeld eind 1999/2000. We zijn nu in 2022, dus....

Eens kijken wat 30 april ons te bieden heeft.

Wie gaat winnen is niet bekend, maar een ding is zeker: de Russen gaan enorme verliezen lijden, misschien wel groter dan de reeds geleden verliezen.

Société Générale stopt in Rusland
Miljardenverlies bij verkoop Rosbank.

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Société Générale stopt met bankieren en verzekeren in Rusland en verkoopt zijn belang in Rosbank aan Interros Capital, de vorige eigenaar van de Russische bank. Dit maakte de Franse bank maandagochtend bekend.

Op die manier vertrek de Franse bankenreus "op een effectieve en ordelijke wijze" uit Rusland, terwijl medewerkers hun baan en klanten hun rekeningen behouden.

De kernkapitaalratio zal door de desinvestering met zo'n 20 basispunten dalen, door de afwaardering van boekwaarde van de leningen die worden afgestoten voor 2 miljard euro.

Daar staat tegenover dat de risico's op die leningen van de balans verdwijnen. Dat is ruim 15 miljard aan risico op wanbetaling. De koper van Rosbank betaalt ook de achtergestelde schuld af die Société Générale heeft uitstaan op zijn het Russische dochterbedrijf.

De buffer blijft ruim boven de doelstelling en het dividendbeleid wijzigt niet, benadrukt Société Générale.
