Even alles op een rijtje zetten op het desbetreffende draadje en onrechtstreeks met een kwinkslag aan "EHT" die mij toch de aanzet gaf om SEED in de picture te plaatsen.Moet toch wel een grote toevalstreffer zijn dat net SEED daaropvolgend met 100% is gestegen.

Mooi geschreven hier en wat betreft de tips van Skippy kan ik zeggen dat ik daar in tijden mooi van geprofiteerd heb.

Even een overdenking hier, vandaag deden de Chinese agrarische stocks het goed, met name:
- China Green Agriculture (CGA)
- Yongye International (Yong)
- China Agritech (CGAC)

Van deze twee hebben Yong en CGAC op dit moment de meeste potentie; CGAC vanwege lage P/E en investeringen van hedgefunds, Yong lijkt bezig om weer terug te komen na redelijk gedaald te zijn de laatste tijd.

Origin Agritech Limited (NASDAQ: SEED) is not exactly a household name in America, but the company is deep in hybrid crop seeds in China. This weekend came the announcement: “Origin Agritech Announces Final Approval of World’s First Genetically Modified Phytase Corn”… Need say no more.

Shares are up 30% at $6.78 at 8:22 AM EST on over 65,000 shares pre-market. This is actually a 52-week high as the prior 52-week trading range is $1.70 to $6.46. Average volume is only about 167,000 shares and the market cap before this pop was $117 million. Active days in the recent past showed over 400,000 shares in October and it saw a whopping 2.9 million shares trade one day mid-September. With the price, the China aspect, the low market cap and today’s rally, we expect this to be extremely active.

Het is te zien hoe u het beziet.Door werkomstandigheden kan ik vandaag toch niks ondernemen.Dus nu uitstappen en winst nemen gaat niet voor vandaag. Nu maar hopen dat er straks of morgen niet al te veel winstnemingen komen die bij Seed.In het verleden kon het zijn winst nooit al te lang vasthouden.En aangezien ik dit fonds voor de lange termijn heb in mijn porto maak ik me er niet te veel zorgen over.

Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) - SEED gapped higher and ran a bit Tuesday morning but then sold off. I could not find any shares to short all day which was behind my sell-off thesis Monday night. The fact that there wasn't that much selling pressure helped the stock remain strong. Support is $9.80 while resistance continues to be located at $12-$12.09. Check out SEED Technical Analysis.

Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) exploded yesterday as most of you know. The stock closed at It's highs of the day which is bullish for today but I am expecting some profit taking on Tuesday. If SEED does get some additional momentum Tuesday, I feel the stock could hit $12 and then begin the sell off. Keep an eye on support at around $9.80. If $9.80 fails, I will start playing SEED from the short side. As always, keep tight stop orders.

BEIJING, Nov 27 (Reuters) - China has approved its first strain of genetically modified rice for commercial production, two scientists involved in the approval process told Reuters on Friday, potentially easing the way for other major producers to adopt the controversial technology.

The approval of the locally-developed rice, as well as China's first GMO corn, shifts the global balance of power in food trade and could prompt other countries to follow suit, experts said.

It will also enable China, the world's top producer and consumer of rice, to grow more of its staple food amid shrinking land and water resources.

The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture's Biosafety Committee issued biosafety certificates to pest-resistant Bt rice, two committee members told Reuters on Friday, with large-scale production to start in 2-3 years.

"We expect that with the Chinese approval of Bt rice it will be much easier for other countries to do this," said Robert Zeigler, director general at the Philippines-based International Rice Research Institute, which is developing a number of GMO strains of rice.

But Greenpeace called the move a "dangerous genetic experiment" and said it had previously exposed illegal cases of genetically engineered (GE) rice in China.

"If the Ministry of Agriculture cannot even control the illegal cultivation of GE rice, how can they manage the risks of large scale cultivation?" Lorena Luo, Greenpeace's food and agriculture campaigner in China, asked in an emailed statement.

China, which wants to raise grain production 8 percent to 540 million tonnes a year by 2020, has splashed out on GMO research, with $3.5 billion going on rice, corn and wheat. [ID:nPEK321208]

The phytase corn was also locally developed by China's Academy of Agricultural Science and Nadaq-listed Origin Agritech Ltd <SEED.O>, which has seen its share price double since shareholders were notified of the approval on Saturday.

Phytase corn will help pigs digest more phosphorus, enhancing growth and reducing pollution from animal waste and fertiliser runoff.

The rice and corn strains are China's first GMO grains approved for commercial production, although it already permits GMO papaya, cotton and tomatoes.

The strains still need to undergo registration and production trials before commercial production can begin in restricted areas, which may take 2-3 years, the scientists said.

The scientists declined to be identified as the government has not officially published the information. Officials at the Agricultural Ministry's biosafety office declined to comment.

"According to our sources, our information is yes, there was a meeting of the Biosafety Committe on GE rice and corn and the meeting has granted certification," said Greenpeace's Luo.

Shares of Origin Agritech (Nasdaq: SEED) have just jumped more than 9% as the company announced the completion of its second note buyback agreement with Citadel.

From the release:
Origin Agritech today announced that it completed its Second Notes Repurchase Agreement as of December 30, 2009 with Citadel Equity Fund Ltd. of the remaining portion of the Company's outstanding 1% Guaranteed Senior Secured Convertible Notes due 2012 by full repayment in cash of the agreed upon purchase price due to Citadel.

Liang Yuan, CEO of Origin Agritech, stated, "Origin has never been in a stronger position strategically, technologically, and, most appropriately, financially, in this situation. We are repurchasing our notes based on this strength. Our current cash receipts from this FY 2010 selling season are again the highest in our history, and this should continue to be evident in the first quarters on our balance sheet. We repaid our debt to eliminate any possible dilution and demonstrate our upcoming confidence in the near term future."

The Company issued the Notes to Citadel in an aggregate principle amount of US$40 million in June 2007, and repurchased $23.4 million in principle of those notes in July 2008 and January 2009. This composes the last tranche of the aggregate principle amount of the remaining US$16.6 million, for a repurchase price of US$104,000 for each principal amount of US$100,000 of such Notes. These repurchased notes have been cancelled.

Origin Agritech (SEED) - There was a wave of call option activity at Origin Agritech following the technology-focused seed development company’s announcement that it had bought back the remainder of its outstanding notes. The move will probably strengthen its balance sheet and helped spur its share price 25% higher to $12.15. Last month the stock rose to about $15 after the Chinese government said it would work with the company to grow modified corn and rice. Heaviest call volume was seen at the January $12.5 strike where 4,400 lots have traded from Tuesday’s close of 10 cents to 90 cents. The $15 strike calls have traded 1,600 times at an unchanged 30 cents. Option implied volatility spiked from 80% to 103% as uncertainty grew as investors demanded higher premiums to sell options. At the January 10 strike investors appeared swift to sell more than 4,000 put options as low as 40 cents, down from Tuesday’s closing price of $1.10 in the expectation that Origin will remain firm.

Lang niet meer gepost hier, zal de draad weer eens oppakken. Afgelopen jaren forse winsten geboekt (USA trades only). 45000 stuks Seed in de portefeuille gezet. in 2014 hebben ze een bod van 2,50$ gehad dat werd geweigerd. Gezien de balans (assets) en goede vooruitzichten voor Q4 verwacht ik dat dit fonds weleens weer richting die 2,50-3$ zal gaan.

Veel kopers aan de biedzijde. Zal SEED dan toch spoedig weer boven de 2$ komen? Hiervoor dient eerst de 1,75$ doorbroken te worden. Vooralsnog ligt het aandeel er technisch erg sterk bij!

Ben het met je eens dat het volume wel hoger dient te worden. Er ligt namelijk een gap die gevuld moet worden. Wellicht dat er vandaag later op de dag nog wat volume in komt. Vooralsnog koop ik 10000 stukken bij wanneer de 1,75 wordt doorbroken.

10000 stukken SEED bijgekocht in de laatste handelsdagen. gemiddelde prijs van 1,62. Laag volume vandaag maar gaat sterk naar het slot toe. Verwacht komende maand dat de koers een forse sprong kan maken. Zeker houden tot boven de 2$.
