So far there are five Republicans in Congress who have come out in support in public of impeaching president Donald Trump. Here is who they are and what they have said:

Rep. John Katko (New York): “By deliberately promoting baseless theories suggesting the election was somehow stolen, the president created a combustible environment of misinformation, disenfranchisement, and division. When this manifested in violent acts on 6 January, he refused to promptly and forcefully call it off, putting countless lives in danger.”

Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyoming): “The president summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the president. The president could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”

Rep. Fred Upton (Michigan): “I would have preferred a bipartisan, formal censure rather than a drawn-out impeachment process. But it is time to say: Enough is Enough.”

Rep. Herrera Beutler (Washington): “I understand the argument that the best course is not to further inflame the country or alienate Republican voters. But I am a Republican voter. I believe in our Constitution.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Illinois): “There is no doubt in my mind that the president of the United States broke his oath of office and incited this insurrection. He used his position in the Executive to attack the Legislative. So in assessing the articles of impeachment brought before the House, I must consider: if these actions – the Article II branch inciting a deadly insurrection against the Article I branch – are not worthy of impeachment, then what is an impeachable offense?”

Het zou wel grappig zijn als het lukt.
Ik heb altijd gezegd dat hij enkel door zijn eigen partij ten val kan worden gebracht.
Daar was tot mijn stomme verbazing nooit sprake van; zo verrot is die aprtij.
En nu?
De zo ongeveer machtigste man in de VS al voor vele jaren, Mitch McConnel, lijkt zich nu in te gaan zetten voor zijn val.

De ongekende rechtszaak van Dominion Voting Systems tegen pro-Trump-advocaat Sidney Powell zou wel eens de eerste domino kunnen zijn in een reeks rechtszaken tegen Trump-bondgenoten die verkeerde informatie hebben verspreid over kiezersfraude - mogelijk inclusief Donald Trump zelf.

Enorme barricade en hekwerk gingen 's nachts omhoog bij de @VP
residentie. De hele omtrek van het Naval Observatory bevindt zich nu achter de barricades. Ik kom van hier, heb dit nog nooit in mijn leven gezien.

In de afgelopen twee weken heeft China twee stappen ondernomen die het vermogen van de nieuwe regering Biden ondermijnen om een westerse alliantie op te bouwen om de groeiende en steeds agressievere mondiale assertiviteit van China in te dammen.

Op de laatste dag van 2020 tekende China een investeringspact met de Europese Unie ondanks verzoeken van Biden-adviseurs om uit te stellen totdat de nieuwe regering de gelegenheid had gehad om de gemeenschappelijke zorgen van de VS en Europa over het economische beleid en de praktijken van China te bespreken.

Vervolgens kondigde China in het weekend een reactie aan op de talloze sancties die de Trump-regering zijn bedrijven en individuen heeft opgelegd, en onthulde een nieuwe reeks regels die beweren buitenlandse wetten tegen te gaan die 'ten onrechte' Chinese bedrijven of individuen verbieden of beperken. het ondernemen van hun normale zaken.

Mensen als een Mc Connel zitten er eerder als hoeders van de partij, dan dat ze beleid maken.
Hij is echt een ras opputunist. In de kern vindt hij Trump geen fijn mens dat geloof ik. Toch is die
4 jaar achter de man blijven staan.

Nu spelen andere zaken, de partij dreigt ten onder te gaan.
Met sponsors die niets met Trump en trumpianen te maken willen hebben, wordt er gewoon te weinig geld opgehaald. Mc Connel kijkt alleen naar de bankafschriften, daar komt steeds minder op.
Uiteindelijk bepaalt het grote geld wie de leider is.
Duidelijk dat Mc Conel voor het geld gaat.
Persoonlijk zou ik het wel aardig vinden als met Trump ook een Jim Jordan en Ted Cruz afgefikt worden.

Wellicht denk ik te simpel, maar Trump lijkt te weten dat ze hem niet " tijdelijk buiten werking zullen stellen "dat 25e amendment.
Hij heeft het over afzetting , impeachment.
Maakt die daar niet een blunder ?
er zijn 3 opties.
1) ga zelf weg.
2) wordt tijdelijk unfit bevonden
3) wordt afgezet.

Alleen bij de laatste , mag je ook niet meer meedoen. Dan ook kan je denk makkelijker aangesproken worden dan in geval je voor 1 of 2 kiest. Trump zou heel makkelijk kunnen stellen dat die moderne medicijnen hem op hele rare gedachtes had gebracht. Ook had die verkeerde mensen om zich heen , dat zal geen mens ontkennen. Giuiliani-Stone-Lin Woods .

New York City says it will terminate its contracts with Trump’s company

New York City is terminating its contracts with Trump’s company to run a carousel, two ice rinks and a golf course in city parks, Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said Wednesday — calling it a response to Trump’s encouragement of a mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol.

“The President incited a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional transfer of power,” de Blasio said in a written statement. “The City of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form.”

That decision — which will cut off the Trump Organization from businesses that bring in $17 million per year in revenue — makes New York the latest business partner to sever ties with Trump’s company. Trump still owns his company from the White House, and his actions as president now seem to have made it a pariah, cut off by even longtime partners.

Since Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol, the company has lost two of its banks, its e-commerce vendor and two of its real estate brokers. The company also lost its chance to host the prestigious PGA Championship golf tournament in 2022 and lost its hopes of hosting another major golf tournament in Scotland.

In a statement, Amanda Miller, a spokeswoman for the Trump Organization, said the company would fight the move.

“The City of New York has no legal right to end our contracts and if they elect to proceed, they will owe The Trump Organization over $30 million dollars,” she said. “This is nothing more than political discrimination, an attempt to infringe on the First Amendment and we plan to fight vigorously.”
