Mr Putin Orders to Promote Coal Transport to East for Exports

TASS reported that Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin has tasked the Cabinet in cooperation with the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, to introduce amendments providing the opportunity for agreements to be made between Russian Railways and coal miners on coal export eastward

A document on the Kremlin’s website says "The government of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation should ensure introduction of amendments to laws of the Russian Federation by 2021 year-end, providing the opportunity for making (subject to approaches agreed with the largest coal producing companies) agreements between Russian Railways and coal producing companies for the term up to three years, which determine the quantities of coal export by railway transport eastward and set forth liability of parties to such agreements.”

The deadline for the assignment is set as by December 31.

Once again, Russia’s federal censorship agency has demanded that Apple and Google take down Alexey Navalny’s mobile apple. This time, however, Roskomnadzor (RKN) is claiming that refusing to do so will be regarded as interference in Russia’s upcoming elections.

As reported by Interfax, Roskomnadzor sent notices to the American tech giants at the request of the Russian Attorney General’s Office, on the grounds that Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation is considered an “extremist” organization banned in Russia.

“Failure to take action is a violation of Russian law, entails administrative liability (article 13.41 of the Russian Administrative Code), and can be viewed as interference by the aforementioned American companies in elections taking place in the Russian Federation.”
Under Administrative Code article 13.41, failure to comply with restricting access to banned information is punishable by fines up to four million rubles (nearly $55,000) for the first offense. Roskomnadzor also noted that involvement in the activities of an extremist organization is considered a felony.

RKN first demanded that Apple and Google remove Navalny’s app from the App Store and Google Play in mid-August. Days later, mobile operators and Internet providers began blocking the app in Russia.

In addition to containing the posts from Alexey Navalny’s blog, the opposition politician’s mobile app has a “Smart Vote” function.

In July, Roskomnadzor blocked Navalny’s website and more than 40 other sites linked to the Anti-Corruption Foundation.

Russia Unlikely to Extend Steel Export Duties to 2022

Russian authorities have recently indicated that there may be no grounds for the prolongation of recently imposed export duties for August 1- December 31 and they will not be rolled over to 2022. Russia's Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Mr Victor Evtukhov told “I do not see the export duties being valid next year. There is no need for that. The local prices have started to decrease and the market has started to cool off. We cannot foresee now how the economy will be, but today it is not bad. The decision can be either one.”

Mr Evtuhov added that “At present Russia has fixed the price decreases in the local market for all of the primary products. Moreover, some products locally are priced lower than in the international markets. However, scrap prices remain strong among all of the products, which are explained by the decent demand in both local and export markets.”

At the end of July this year, Russia's Ministry of Industry imposed 15 percent export duty for most steel products, while the minimal payable value was set individually for each product. The measure has been imposed for the period from August 1 until 31 December 2021.

But industry insiders believe the Russian government will replace the 15% export duty with an increase in mineral extraction tax or MET. Just under a month ago, President Mr Vladimir Putin said Russia would increase the MET for the metallurgical industry starting in January.

Russische minister voor Noodsituaties komt om door val van klif bij oefening

De Russische minister voor Noodsituaties Yevgeny Zinichev is woensdag om het leven gekomen tijdens een oefening van zijn departement, meldt het ministerie (EMERCOM).

De 55-jarige Zinichev deed mee aan een grote oefening in de noordelijke stad Norilsk. De oefening was gericht op het verbeteren van de veiligheid in het poolgebied. Het is niet bekend wat de oefening precies inhield.

Volgens het ministerie redde Zinichev het leven van een andere deelnemer aan de oefening, maar kwam hij daarbij zelf om het leven. Verdere details over zijn dood gaf het ministerie niet.

Lokale media melden dat Zinichev van een klif is gevallen. Norilsk staat bekend om zijn vele klippen en watervallen. Eind mei 2020 vond in de omgeving van de stad een grote olieramp plaats. Duizenden tonnen olie kwamen toen in de rivieren terecht nadat een opslagtank was opengebarsten.

Zinichev was sinds 2018 minister van het ministerie voor Noodsituaties. Ook was hij lid van de nationale veiligheidsraad van Rusland. Sinds 2020 had hij de rang van generaal in het Russische leger.

Het Russische ministerie van Noodsituaties werd in 1990 opgericht om de nationale rampenbestrijding te leiden. Onder de taken van het ministerie valt onder meer het opzetten en coördineren van reddingsoperaties bij natuurrampen en aanslagen.

Russische centrale bank verhoogt rente
Tarief naar 6,75 procent.

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De centrale bank van Rusland heeft het belangrijkste rentetarief verhoogd. Dit maakte het monetair beleidsorgaan vrijdag bekend.

De beleidsmakers besloten om het rentetarief met 25 basispunten te verhogen naar 6,75 procent.

De bank gaf in een toelichting aan dat de omvang van de economie het peil van voor de uitbraak van de coronapandemie weer heeft bereikt, terwijl de prijzen aanzienlijk blijven stijgen omdat de vraag sterker aantrekt dan de productie.

De inflatie zal vermoedelijk in het vierde kwartaal beginnen te vertragen en in 2022 dalen naar 4,0 tot 4,5 procent om vervolgens in de buurt van de gewenste 4 procent te blijven.

Asked why Putin met with Assad if there were concerns about his exposure to people who tested positive, Peskov said the event took place before the decision to quarantine was made.

When pressed on the matter by journalists who brought up the fact Putin told Russian athletes on Monday there were people sick with coronavirus around him, Peskov reiterated there was "nothing illogical" about Putin's schedule.

"First, I can say that Putin did not meet with Assad at the end of the day, it was at the beginning of the working day. And everything else, as the doctors completed their studies and the necessary procedures ... a decision was made.

There is nothing illogical here. At that time [when the meetings happened], doctors were still doing their tests," Peskov said.
"Nobody's health was endangered," he added.

Russia’s Putin slams presence of foreign troops in Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the presence of foreign troops in Syria, saying they are there against the will of the Syrian government and are blocking the consolidation of the war-torn country, the Kremlin said Tuesday.

Putin was referring to hundreds of U.S. troops stationed in eastern Syria and working with Kurdish-led fighters in battling the militant Islamic State group, as well as Turkish forces in northern Syria. Speaking during a rare meeting in Moscow on Monday night with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad, he said the presence of the foreigners is illegal because they don’t have permission to be there from the United Nations or Syria’s government.

Russia joined Syria’s 10-year conflict in September 2015, when the Syrian military appeared close to collapse, and has since helped in tipping the balance of power in favor of Assad, whose forces now control much of the country. Hundreds of Russian troops are deployed across Syria and they also have a military air base along Syria’s Mediterranean coast.

Assad has rarely made trips abroad in the past decade since Syria’s conflict began, except to visit key allies Russia and Iran. Assad and Putin discussed cooperation between their armies and ways to continue operations to gain control of the last rebel-held areas in Syria, state media in Damascus reported.

De vluchtelingen stroom uit Syrie is op gang gekomen na de bombardementen met het giftige Sarin in 2013 door het leger van Assad en de bombardementen van Assad's regime en Rusland op de burger bevolking, waarbij woonwijken en ziekenhuizen werden gebombardeerd.

Na het bezoek van Assad aan Putin, komt Rusland met een eigen propaganda versie op de migranten stroom uit Syrie naar Europa.

According to Russia's top diplomat, the topic of illegal migration emerged after NATO bombed-out Libya and destroyed the Libyan statehood

Moscow condemns the activity of Western nations in Libya and is not going to share with them the burden of responsibility for the migration crises triggered as a result, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told journalists on Wednesday following a joint meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers, the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils.

According to the top diplomat, the topic of illegal migration emerged after NATO bombed-out Libya and destroyed the Libyan statehood. "Flows of illegal migrants then headed northward through the bombed-out Libya, and when the European Union realized that this burden was too heavy for it, it began to urge everyone else to share the burden of responsibility for the fate of these migrants," Lavrov stressed.

"We are not going to share the burden of responsibility for what we not only had refused to support, but also condemned," the foreign minister pointed out. He also said that the actions from the West had made Libya "a black hole from the country that used to be among the most stable and flourishing from the social point of view."

"That is why, the West must understand that if it keeps supporting reckless schemes like the Iraqi and Libyan ones, if it continues actions that have brought about nothing good and have in no way calmed the situation after NATO’s 20 years in Afghanistan, then probably people will be fleeing the places that the West wanted to make happy through their democratic mission," he summed up.

Volgens die uitslag behoudt Poetins partij Verenigd Rusland meer dan tweederde van de zetels in het parlement. Daarmee kan de partij eigenhandig de grondwet veranderen.

Toch leek Verenigd Rusland zondagavond in Moskou af te stevenen op een grote nederlaag. Na het tellen van de stembiljetten in alle stemlokalen stond de partij op achterstand in 11 van de 15 hoofdstedelijke kiesdistricten. Verenigd Rusland werd er voornamelijk verslagen door kandidaten van de Communistische Partij. Het gevluchte team van de opgesloten oppositieleider Aleksej Navalny had Moskovieten opgeroepen op die kandidaten te stemmen na uitsluiting van talloze andere politici.

Internetstemmen
Toen duidelijk werd dat Verenigd Rusland achterlag, besloot de Centrale Kiescommissie te wachten met de bekendmaking van stemmen die via internet waren uitgebracht. Alle andere regio’s met een internetstemming hadden hun uitslagen al wel bekendgemaakt. De kiescommissie schoof de bekendmaking urenlang voor zich uit en publiceerde de resultaten uiteindelijk pas maandagmiddag. Die veranderden de einduitslag drastisch: plots vielen alle vijftien Moskouse kiesdistricten in handen van Verenigd Rusland.

Waarom alleen zo vriendelijk de vermelding ouwe boef ?

Dit is verkiezingen fraude, kiezersbedrog en oplichting.

Eerst een aantal van zijn politieke tegenstanders uitschakelen zodat zij niet aan de verkiezingen deel kunnen nemen.
Ondanks dit voordeel nog de noodzaak hebben de stemming te vervalsen om als winnaar uit de bus te komen.
