Ik zat al in GGPI en heb ook een pluk TPGY. Gekozen om een kleine herschikking te doen. 25% van TPGY verkocht en hiermee GGPI met 50% vergroot. Mijn gak op GGPI is nu 11,07. Laat maar komen die merger :)

Judges were swayed by the British-built Qashqai’s range of passive and active safety features, and the implementation of reverse AEB and centre side airbags – two newer innovations that are beginning to make a real difference to passenger and pedestrian safety on our roads.

Although the latest Qashqai isn’t available as a full EV yet, its popularity on the roads, high performance safety features and affordability, enabled it to show a clean pair of heels to the other contenders on the Safety Award shortlist – three of which were full EVs and the other a hybrid.

“There are two important stories around this year’s winner for me. The first is the mass-market appeal of the Qashqai. We are looking for vehicles that can bring the greatest safety benefits to the greatest number of road users in the UK. It’s pleasing to see the safest car in 2022 is also one many people already have on their driveways,” Matthew Avery, Thatcham Research’s Chief Research Strategy Officer, says.

“The other is the tone it sets. The Qashqai is an affordable model which doesn’t compromise on safety features. Nissan has maintained standards across its range and stuck to its safety principles. The car sector is a hyper-competitive environment, so others will look on with interest.”

Launched to great fanfare in 2019, Polestar 2 is the latest offering from the new standalone electric carmaker

The mid-market EV sold just under 30,000 cars worldwide in 2021 – impressive for a new brand – but it caught the attention of this year’s judges more for its safety features than global reach.

The first Polestar model to be tested by Euro NCAP achieved a five-star rating with outstanding results in all four categories. Excellent body structure ensures impressive passive safety, and an Occupant Centre Airbag prevents interaction between the front passenger and driver during side impacts.

“The Polestar 2 is a full EV with great safety performance,” Matthew Avery says. “Polestar should be applauded for its commitment to road safety.

“Impressive Safety Assist functions means it's a good at protecting you in the event of a crash, and good at helping you avoid the crash in the first place.

“At £40,000, the Polestar 2 is relatively expensive for UK consumers, but we feel it could make a real difference to road safety over time if the price starts to move downwards.”

Skoda Enyaq

Skoda is another manufacturer to popularise high-spec safety technology on its cost-effective models. “The Enyaq is an affordable SUV that will account for many sales in the EV crossover segment,” Matthew Avery says.

The entry-level SUV performed impressively in front-end crash testing, with the car engineered to minimise damage to other vehicles in a collision. It also protects driver and passengers with an impressive 94% Adult Occupant Protection score.

“Skoda’s Enyaq is a popular family car with lots of room that was only bettered in safety testing by more expensive vehicles,” Avery adds. “Enyaq’s high scores suggest safety has not been compromised in Skoda’s transition to electric power. It also shows the VW Group hasn’t compromised safety in favour of the environment.”

Als SPAC GGPI misschien niet meer (toch eens afwachten), omdat de eerste piek richting $16 al geweest is, maar als PSNY (hopelijk) wel. ;) Mooi bedrijf.
Los van het feit dat Rivian en Lucid echte amerikanen zijn en de emotie van daar mee hebben, geloof ik erin, dat richting $20 voor Polestar ook reëel is en dit kan.

NB: vrijdag toch bijgekocht op $10.30
Als het herstel AEX dezer dagen positief doorzet incl ASMi koop ik nog meer GGPI. (cash paraat gezet nl ook voor ASMi als de dip daar verder gaat).

The Polestar 2 Is a Terrific Attempt by Volvo to Dethrone the Tesla Model 3

Hailed by many as the Tesla killer, The Polestar 2 is the first production vehicle of its name to enter the Australian market. While it doesn’t meet the range or battery size of the Tesla Model 3, it’s a valiant effort, combining comfort and high-tech features with the smooth driving experience provided by an electric vehicle.

It’s safe to say that I’m a fan; I’ve always been one to go for the underdog, although in the electric vehicle market, the “underdog” appears to be automotive giant Volvo (the owners of Polestar) and the much smaller, yet popular Tesla.

But how right has Volvo gotten it with the Polestar 2? Well, I took one for a spin over a week, clocking about 1,000 kilometres in travel, including a return trip from Sydney’s Inner West up to a town just south of Port Macquarie. As an inner-city renter who does want to get an EV at some point, here’s my review of the Polestar

WHAT IS IT?

The first Polestar in Australia, a subsidiary of Volvo.

LIKE

Very luxurious, spacious and a pleasure to drive. Beautiful from every angle, inside and out. A Tesla Model 3 alternative.

NO LIKE

No space for a spare tire, shorter range than a Tesla Model 3.

The Polestar 2 is a powerful everything car

It’s hard to say a bad thing about the Polestar 2, which is ultimately good at its price. It’s also difficult to pick what kind of car it is from any angle. From the front, it looks like a modern muscle car. From the side, it looks like a sedan. From the back, it looks like an SUV.

Onlangs testte Autobild, het Duitse zusterblad van AutoWeek, twaalf elektrische auto's op hoge snelheid, om te zien wat dat betekent voor het rijbereik van die modellen. In het deelnemersveld zaten nogal wat kostbare exoten die voor veel mensen onbereikbaar zijn. Bovendien ontbrak Tesla. Kortom, tijd voor een nieuwe ronde 130 kilometer per uur en nieuwe deelnemers.

Aan de streep verschijnen ditmaal de Polestar 2 en de Volkswagen ID.3, twee modellen die in Nederland op bovengemiddelde belangstelling kunnen rekenen. Nog maar kort op de markt maar nu al in de test is de Cupra Born, de sportieve tweelingbroer van de ID.3. Tenslotte hebben de organisatoren de hand weten te leggen op de eveneens nieuwe Tesla Model Y.

Waar er de vorige keer nog veel onduidelijk was over de testmethode, licht het autoblad ditmaal toe dat er op constante snelheid gereden is bij een buitentemperatuur van 10 graden Celsius. Of dat op hetzelfde traject en tijdstip was, is niet bekend. Ook blijft onvermeld of de testauto's helemaal leeg gereden zijn of dat er toch nog een aantal procenten accucapaciteit over was.

Vlotte snelweg kilometers heel anders dan officiële meetcyclus
De behaalde prestaties lijken in eerste instantie teleurstellend, zeker als je dat afzet tegen wat de fabrikanten beloven. Zo zou de Polestar goed moeten zijn voor 470 kilometer aan rijbereik, terwijl ze bij Cupra 420 kilometer beloven. De Tesla komt op papier 553 kilometer ver op een acculading, de Volkswagen 420 kilometer.

Dat zijn echter getallen op basis van de zogeheten Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), een meetcyclus die op een rollerbank in een laboratorium wordt uitgevoerd. Een constante snelheid van 130 kilometer per uur op de snelweg is andere koek, zeker bij een buitentemperatuur van 10 graden Celsius.

Zo is de gemiddelde snelheid van de WLTP 46,5 kilometer per uur en wordt er getest bij een temperatuur van 23 graden. Gedurende ruim de helft van de tijd wordt bovendien het rijden in stedelijk gebied nagebootst. Dan is het niet zo gek dat auto's, of dat nou volledig elektrische modellen zijn of brandstofwagens, niet in de buurt komen van het opgegeven rijbereik of brandstofverbruik.

Auto's halen iets meer dan de helft van hun opgegeven bereik
Omgezet naar percentages haalt de Polestar bij 130 kilometer per uur 57 procent van de maximale actieradius. De Cupra haalt 54 procent, de Volkswagen 51 procent van het op papier mogelijke rijbereik. De Tesla schopt het bij de genoemde snelheid tot 55 procent van de actieradius.

Waar het verschil in zit tussen de Cupra en de Volkswagen, twee auto's die vrijwel hetzelfde zijn, wordt niet direct duidelijk. Mogelijk hebben zaken als wind, bandensoort of de instellingen van de klimaatregeling een rol gespeeld.

Andere uitvoeringen leveren betere prestaties
Wil je langere afstanden afleggen met de ID.3, dan levert Volkswagen deze ook met een accupakket van 77 kWh. In dat geval stijgt de maximale actieradius naar 550 kilometer per uur. Bij Polestar kun je ervoor kiezen om vierwielaandrijving achterwege te laten. Dat levert je in het gunstigste geval 60 kilometer extra op.

Bij Tesla kun je tenslotte uitwijken naar een Model 3 Long Range, die op papier 602 kilometer ver komt tegenover 553 kilometer voor de Model Y.
