AMSTERDAM (AFN) - Advies- en ingenieursbureau Arcadis heeft zijn aandelen in het Braziliaans samenwerkingsproject voor duurzaam gas ALEN verkocht aan zijn lokale partner Porto de Cima Concessões. In december vorig jaar kondigde het ingenieurs- en adviseursbureau al aan te stoppen met investeren in het project, omdat het de resultaten negatief beïnvloedde.
Arcadis trof toen een voorziening van 85 miljoen euro, vooral bedoeld om eerdere garanties af te dekken. Nu betaalt de onderneming 6 miljoen euro aan schuld terug en geeft het een deel van de voorzieningen vrij.
"Ik ben erg blij met het akkoord", zegt topman van Arcadis Peter Oosterveer. "Met de afronding van de transactie vandaag kunnen we eindelijk deze oude kwestie achter ons laten." Door ALEN te verkopen, verwacht Arcadis zich beter op waardeverhogende activiteiten te kunnen richten voor de lange termijn.
