GAUSSIN Selects NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Platform for Hydrogen, Battery Intelligent Skateboard – Freight Transportation Solution
June 18, 2021
GAUSSIN (EURONEXT GROWTH: ALGAU – FR0013495298), a pioneer of zero-emission and smart freight transportation, announced that it has selected the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX XavierTM platform to power its centralized intelligent driving system, which is designed to transform the trucking industry and accelerate the transition to zero-emission freight transportation.
In April 2021, GAUSSIN launched the world’s first “skateboard” for Class 8 tractor or straight trucks from 18 tons to 44 tons, hydrogen or all-electric. The solution—which is a rolling, versatile and modular platform—is aimed at both traditional truck manufacturers and new entrants, as well as truck-body builders and autonomous navigation software players.
Additionally, GAUSSIN’s skateboard targets companies wishing to have access to a hydrogen and electric truck platform for clean and intelligent transport.
GAUSSIN’s skateboard aims to become the reference platform in the trucking industry by creating an extensive community of reference, regional and commercial technology partners. The company facilitates integration through documentation, training and standardization of the various mechanical and software interfaces.
NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier AI platform for highly automated and autonomous driving to
provide the GAUSSIN skateboard supercomputing capabilities
NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier delivers 30 TOPS (trillion operations per second). At its core is the firstever production auto-grade Xavier SoC (system-on-a-chip), which incorporates six different types of processors, including a CPU, GPU, Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA), Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA), Image Signal Processor (ISP) and stereo/optical flow accelerator.
This massive compute capability allows GAUSSIN to centralize its skateboard architecture. It
facilitates the integration of systems and opens the door to AI-powered solutions, using a single framework and interface. The platform concept extends to the software through a dedicated API to rapidly develop tailored applications.
Ongoing Collaboration
In addition to the integration of NVIDIA DRIVE technology, GAUSSIN plans to look at leveraging other NVIDIA solutions for its autonomous system applications that include driving tasks, robotic arms and shipping yard management system solutions.
Specifically, GAUSSIN plans to transition to NVIDIA DRIVE Orin for additional high-performance compute capabilities for Level 4 autonomy. With NVIDIA DRIVE technology, GAUSSIN will provide an industrial, safe, scalable and tailored solution for its complete portfolio.
