Tiger Resources Limited is an Australia-based company engaged in the discovery and development of copper/cobalt deposits in the Roan Sequence. The Company’s principal assets are the Kipoi and Luputo (Sase) Projects, located in the Katanga Copper Belt of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Kipoi Project is located 75kms northwest of Lubumbashi, the capital of Katanga Province, in the central part of the Katangan Copperbelt. Kipoi covers an area of 55 square kilometers and contains a 12 kilometers long copper-cobalt mineralized segment (ecaille) of Upper Roan (R2, R4) sediments. The project hosts five known copper deposits, Kipoi Central, Kipoi North, Kileba, Judeira and Kaminafitwe. The Company holds a 100% interest in the Lupoto Permit. As of June 30, 2009, the Company had completed a 25 diamond hole (for a total of 4,294 meter) drill programme at the Sase Prospect. The Sakania project covers an area of 1,095 square kilometers.

Shares in Tiger Resources soar 25% after securing funding for Kipoi Project

Shares in Perth-based exploration company Tiger Resources (ASX: TGS) have shot up 25 per cent after the company entered into an agreement with Trafigura Beheer for a US$33.9 million combined equity and debt financing package.

News of the deal caused shares in Tiger to jump by 4c to 20c.

The funds will be used to complete Tiger’s payment obligations to acquire a 60% interest in the Kipoi Project, meet additional funding requirements for the Stage 1 development at Kipoi, fund the follow-up drilling programme at its Sase prospect and for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Cobalt price delays full output at Zambia plant

Zambia's largest cobalt producer, Chambishi Metals will delay its ramp-up to full output until cobalt prices rise to....... $22 per pound from the current $18 per pound,........... the firm said on Wednesday. Chambishi, which is owned by ....Enya Holdings... of the United Kingdom, had forecast output at 3 400 t of cobalt in 2009 from 2 500 t in 2008 before it suspended operations, which were restarted this month
