VEB en Steinhoff komen standstill overeen

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De Vereniging van Effectenbezitters, European Investors en winkelgigant Steinhoff International Holdings zijn overeengekomen de in Nederland tussen hen lopende collectieve actie te schorsen tot 3 april 2019. Dit maakte de VEB woensdagavond bekend.

Steinhoff krijgt dankzij deze schorsing tijd om het herstructureren van haar onderneming voort te zetten en verdere voortgang te maken met haar onderzoeken en de voorbereiding van haar financiële verslaggeving, aldus de VEB.

Steinhoff werd door de belangenbehartigers voor de Nederlandse rechter gedaagd voor volgens VEB onjuiste en misleidende jaarrekeningen, prospectussen en persberichten.

Overigens procederen de VEB en European Investors ook tegen Deloitte als controlerend accountant.

Een van de vele vetragingen die deze rechtzaak 3-5 jaar gaat laten duren indien er voor een uitspraak wordt gegaan.

Op de een of andere manier heeft steinhoff de veb van iets kunnen overtuigen waardoor zij even afzien van claims!
Mss heeft het management een tipje van de sluier van het onderzoek door pwc opgelicht!zeker niet zal het management gegloofd zijn op hun bruine ogen(z-a)

Wellicht staan de aandelen in april 2019 weer op 3 euro.heb je volgens mij een stuk minder claims bij die stand!

Ik zie het als een grote gok... Echt beleggen is dit niet :-)
Maar krijg er wel steeds meer vertrouwen in.... Over 2 a 3 jaar maak ik de balans op....

Is een goed teken. Geeft al aan wat de verwachtingen zijn. Die 11 miljard claim kunnen ze dus wel vergeten als ze dit zo zeggen.

Er komen voldoende omwikkelingen aan om de koers de komende maanden (flink) hoger te zetten. Dus niet te snel verkopen :-) 20 november as. de status update over de LULA en mogelijk de nodige cijfers... Succes met STEINHOFF...

Steinhoff's investors to suspend legal battle as firm recovers

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Steinhoff (SNHJ.J) (SNHG.DE) said on Wednesday investors who are suing the crisis-hit firm had agreed to suspend litigation until next year, allowing the retailer time to focus on its recovery.

The lawsuit brought in the Netherlands was aimed at compensating investors for the more than 14 billion euros ($16 billion) wiped off Steinhoff's market value since the retailer uncovered accounting irregularities last year.

Steinhoff said the suspension of legal proceedings would be until April 3, 2019.

"This agreement allows us time to focus on completing these tasks in the interests of all stakeholders," said Steinhoff’s acting CEO Danie van der Merwe in a statement.

Steinhoff has been working on a deal to restructure the debt of some subsidiaries with its creditors after revealing multi-billion euro holes in its balance sheet in December that wiped more than 90 percent off its market value and forced it to sell assets to fund working capital.

The lawsuit was brought by a collective group known as VEB/European Investors, Steinhoff said. It claimed that certain financial statements, prospectuses and press releases issued by the company were incorrect and misleading, the retailer said.

Steinhoff International Holdings N.V. - incorporated in the Netherlands - confirmed in a SENS statement issued on Sunday that in excess of 85% of the group's financial creditors have confirmed their support of a proposed extension and consequently the long-stop date has been amended to 20 November 2018.
Steinhoff International Holdings N.V. announced on 15 October 2018 that it had requested that the creditors under the Lock-Up Agreement (LUA) provide their consent to an extension of the long-stop date from 20 October 2018 to 20 November 2018.
The extension is required to provide additional time for the long form documentation for the implementation of the restructuring of the financial indebtedness of the company, Steinhoff Europe AG, Steinhoff Finance Holding GmbH and Stripes US Holding to be finalised.
The group said in the statement that it remains the objective to complete the restructuring as soon as possible.
To facilitate the implementation of the restructuring, the company has also sought the consent of creditors under the LUA in respect of certain proposed amendments relating to the mechanics by which the restructuring may be undertaken.
