En als reactie op de overname verhalen "Océ is a growth company and wants to remain independent" An interview with Océ´s Chairman Rokus van Iperen Venlo, July 11, 2000 — The Chairman of Océ´s Board of Executive Directors, Rokus van Iperen, considers his company ´as a growth company striving for double-digit growth and which is determined to remain independent. Océ doesn´t want to be taken over and so far no one has shown interest for such a move,´ he added. He said this in an interview in the NRC/Handelsblad, the leading evening newspaper in the Netherlands, elaborating on the ´good results for the first six months of this year.´ Under the 15% growth of turnover (1.5 billion euro) and 14% of net profit (72 million euro) Van Iperen observed strong growth in new activities like Facility Services (up 52%), Display Graphics (up 52%) and Printing on Demand (up 81%), albeit still based on modest turnover figures from these activities. Océ´s Chairman also stated that ´after the year 2000 Océ will no longer manufacture analogue copiers, but digital printers only.´ Rokus van Iperen said that his company now strongly is concentrating on the development of special software, without diminishing the development of new digital machines. ´In the coming 18 months we will introduce five major new systems including the 7-colour network printer,´ Océ´s chairman said.
